My connection to Carling goes back generations. My wife and I live on Remy Bay Road, on a property first built by my grandparents in the 1950s. I was a seasonal resident for many years before my wife and I made Carling our full-time home over six years ago.

 I hold a BSc (Fisheries Biology) from the University of Guelph and have extensive experience in budgeting and project management. In the agricultural and municipal sectors, I am recognized as a consensus builder and proactive problem solver. My work with provincial governments and agricultural organizations has provided valuable insights into local and regional issues and collaborations.

Business owner with 22 years as a primary agricultural producer.

17 years of experience with provincial agricultural organizations as a project manager, consensus builder, policy analyst, and educator, working with provincial boards and committees.

Carling Municipal Councillor (2022 – current)

 Recently retired Program Manager from an agricultural communications company (Guelph).

Chair of the Parry Sound Industrial Park Board.

Volunteer Board Member and Treasurer of Harvest Share Food Bank (Parry Sound).

Volunteer Trainer with Workplace Health and Prevention Services (WSPS).

Volunteer with invasive Phragmites reed grass removal efforts on Franklin Island.

Member of the Carling Trail Blazers Snowmobile Club.

Past member of the Ontario Great Lakes Guardians Council

My experience on Council and business experience have prepared me for the position of Mayor by learning the processes, procedures, and applicable laws that govern municipalities in Ontario, specifically the Municipal Act, 2001, the Conflict of Interest Act, and the Planning Act. Understanding the Carling Official Plan and its Comprehensive Zoning by-laws, along with my experience as Chair of the Parry Sound Industrial Park Board, have been important steps in preparing me for the role of Mayor of Carling.
